TAS 2012Jonathan Valin's Best of Show ... Best Bargain of Show... This is always tough for me to answer, since I don’t report on bargain-priced gear, but I did get a good listen to the two-way Raidho C1.1, which at $17k (including stand) is a lot less money than everything else in this report, and I can highly recommend it. (It would’ve been a top contender for BOS if it fell in my price range. Happily (for you) I took some notes on the $17k Raidho C1.1 (the .1 version has an improved midrange driver over that in the C1 version that so impressed me in Munich last year). Here is what I wrote: "Driven by Rowland electronics, the C1.1 had unbelievable and greatly improved bass/lower mids and the same seamless octave-to-octave coherence that it showed in Munich, where I thought it was BOS. Although Captain Luke's bass-baritone sounded a little over-ripe in this room, the C1.1's were simply sensational on Venice and other deep-reaching cuts." As I said in my Best of Show summary, had these two-way stand-mount speakers fallen within my purview, I would have nominated them for Best Sound of Show. Jonathan Valin
HiFi+ 2012“But for me the real star of the Show was the revised Raidho C1.1 bookshelf loudspeaker. There are subtle changes between this model and its C1.0 predecessor, but it took about a nanosecond to realise you were in the presence of greatness, even given the lofty company and its over-achieving predeces-sor. Raidho S-2.0Although the world is suffering from economical chaos, we have had a fantastic year with focus on finishing the new Raidho S2 loudspeaker - it has been a challenging development, but we are very satisfied with the result - we hope you will take the time to visit us at the CES show in January, and test the speaker yourself.

Raidho C-1.1-C-2.1-C-3.1At the same time, we improved the C1, C2 and C3 with new technologi and construction methods, using the experience we made when building the Raidho C4 loudspeaker. The Hifi specialists of the world has been very generous in praising the C4, and we are sure that they will find the update of the complete C-series both sensible and revolutionary. We are looking forward to receiving your evaluation of the improvements made.
Raidho C-1.1 - first ever reviewOnce upon a time, there was a little speaker with big ambitions. (by Roy Gregory, January 7, 2012)
